After completing the medical device certification and rebranding, our next challenge was to ensure consistency across the evolving product. With a new visual identity in place, it became clear that a design system was necessary to maintain this look and feel across both the doctor dashboard and the patient-facing app.
The design system wasn’t just about creating reusable components; it also involved organizing design files in Figma, documenting processes in Notion, and ensuring that future features would align seamlessly with the new brand. Here I dive into how the design system was built, its impact on the workflow, and the lessons learned along the way.

The design system is still a work in progress, continuously evolving with each iteration. Have the new components improved the overall product? The dev team shared some insights into what has been working well and where there’s room for improvement. Here’s what we’ve learned so far:
1- Less time spent on creating new components.
2- More efficient handoff, with fewer explanations needed for describing elements.
3- Reduced back and forth during QA.
4- More consistent coded design across the board.
